Overview

DDZ type broken belt catcher for belt conveyors (hereinafter referred to as DDZ type broken belt catcher) is a new product launched by our company, which fills the gap in China.

DDZ type broken belt catcher is a mechanical protection device designed to quickly and reliably catch broken conveyor belts after sudden belt breakage accidents occur due to various reasons. This device can effectively prevent further extension of belt breakage accidents, prevent equipment damage, ensure personal safety, and minimize accident losses.

The DDZ type broken belt catcher has the advantages of accurate detection of broken belt signals, rapid braking implementation, reliable braking and catching, and convenient installation and transportation. It is an advanced product with a new concept of broken belt catching, which can be widely used in mines, metallurgy, electricity, ports, docks, and other fields.

The broken belt catcher used for belt conveyors has a rated catching force of 400kN and a bandwidth of 1000mm. Its model number is marked as DDZ-400/100.

Working principle

When the belt conveyor is working normally, the upper catching frame is in contact with the carrying belt surface by the supporting rollers under the tension of the conveyor belt, while the lower catching frame is in contact with the lower conveyor belt surface by the supporting rollers. When a belt conveyor experiences a belt breakage accident, the tension of the conveyor belt will suddenly decrease (this is the most accurate triggering signal at the moment of the belt breakage accident), the conveyor belt will relax and slide, and the upper and lower support rollers of the catcher will lose their support force. The upper catcher will rotate upwards under the pre stored coil spring torque and cooperate with the upper crossbeam to grasp the carrying conveyor belt, The lower catching frame rotates downward under the action of gravity and cooperates with the lower crossbeam to catch the return conveyor belt, preventing further accidents caused by conveyor belt sliding, thereby avoiding major safety accidents caused by conveyor belt breakage.

When the tension fluctuates during the operation of the conveyor, or when the conveyor needs to be reversed during the debugging stage, the position of the upper and lower catching frames will change. This change will not trigger the catching action, that is, there will be no misoperation. During the installation phase of the conveyor belt, the upper and lower capture frames can be manually locked to the neutral position. The capture process is shown in the following figure:

1. Broken band capture signal acquisition device

The broken band capture signal detection device installs the sensor on one side of the rack, especially suitable for harsh environments such as high temperature and large dust, as well as underground coal mine work requirements. During the process of catching by the catcher, when the catching frame on the catcher touches the sensor, the sensor immediately sends a broken band signal to the main control system, causing the main motor and other related equipment to stop, and minimizing the losses caused by the broken band accident to the maximum extent.

2. Coal stacking alarm device

The coal stacking alarm device, also known as the anti bulk material protection device, mainly prevents the height of the coal seam (ultra large material) on the conveyor belt from exceeding the safe height of the catching device. When it passes through, it will collide with the upper crossbeam of the catching device, causing danger of squeezing, rolling or stacking the conveyor belt. By installing a coal stacking alarm device below the upper crossbeam of the catching device (the last catching device in the opposite direction of material operation), When a large piece of material exceeds the safe height of the catching device, alarm in advance and stop the machine to avoid the occurrence of related hazards.

3. Spring force detection device

This device is installed on the tension rod of the spring force adjustment wrench at the frame of the catcher. During daily maintenance, the gear fixing plates on both sides of the catcher are disassembled, and the force of the spring directly acts on the tension sensor to display the spring preload in this state. If the difference between the pre tightening force and the last inspection is significant, it is necessary to consider whether the spring is damaged and notify our company. After our company determines, we will decide whether to replace the internal spring of the catcher.

Installation and Design

The catching device is installed in areas with high conveyor tension, and the number of installations is ≥ 1 group. During on-site installation, the layout should be based on the actual tension situation. Generally, the first one should be installed at a distance of 40-70 meters from the maximum tension point.
